Because the saddle is the direct point of contact between horse and rider, taking care of it means preserving not only the product, but above all the balance of the horse–rider partnership.
Well-cared-for leather is synonymous with STABILITY AND COMFORT.
Regular maintenance preserves elasticity and grip, offering the rider a secure seat and a correct position. At the same time, it allows the saddle to follow the horse’s movements without stiffness or pressure points, protecting muscles and comfort. Proper treatments also protect stitching and surfaces, ensuring full functionality and structural reliability over time.
Care is also BEAUTY.
A well-maintained saddle does not lose its appeal with use: on the contrary, it retains harmony and integrity, highlighting the craftsmanship with which it was made. Checking its condition and, when necessary, entrusting it to maintenance work at our Company or at Authorized Dealers is the best way to preserve its value, performance and safety over time.
ALL OUR CLEANING PRODUCTS
The leather used by Gruppo Selleria Equipe for the production of all saddles requires specific maintenance, designed to preserve and enhance it at its best.
For this reason, we have developed in-house a range of advanced technical products designed to:
- Clean without being aggressive,
- Nourish without overloading,
- Protect without altering the functional characteristics of the leather.
The correct use of the different treatments ensures an always efficient surface, prevents stitching from hardening, and keeps the saddle’s balance stable and safe.
Our products are:
SOFT CLEAN – Deep Cleaner
Designed to remove dirt build-up and organic residues that compromise leather breathability. It should only be used when the saddle is very dirty, applied carefully with a damp sponge.
SOFT GREASE – Nourishing Protection
Creates a protective barrier that preserves leather from humidity and wear. Recommended every 2/3 weeks to maintain the right level of elasticity and ensure better stitching strength. Apply with a lambskin glove, always in moderate quantity.
SOFT CARE – Daily Treatment
Ensures gentle and continuous cleaning, keeping leather hydrated and protected. Particularly suitable for frequent use, it helps preserve grip and the proper consistency of the leather. Apply in small doses with the lambskin glove.
SOFT OIL – Deep Nutrition
Ideal for particularly dry or stiff leather. Penetrates deeply to restore the structural flexibility of the leather and prevent cracks that could affect the saddle’s balance. To be used only when necessary, with the lambskin glove.
IMPORTANT
Soft Clean, Soft Grease, Soft Care and Soft Oil must not be used on Buffalo (Nubuck) leather, for which we have developed a specific formula: the Nubuck Cleaner.
NUBUCK CLEANER – Specific Cleaner
Formulated for suede leather, it removes dirt while preserving the natural appearance of nubuck. To be applied with a damp sponge only when the saddle is particularly dirty.
REGENERATING BRUSH – Revitalizing Treatment for Nubuck
An essential tool to revive nubuck fibres and keep the surface even. Brushing against the grain must be carried out with care to avoid fraying and not compromise the stitching.
TECHNICAL NOTES
1. Our saddles are delivered already treated by our specialized craftsmen, who during the final quality control phase ensure that the leather is always in optimal condition. No initial treatment is required: the rider receives a ready-to-use product, tested and certified in its best condition.
2. To ensure the safe use of our cleaning products:

always follow the instructions on the product labels,

use treatments exclusively on the indicated surfaces,

avoid any application on components subject to direct mechanical stress.
SAFETY FIRST
Proper maintenance is a key factor for the safety of the horse–rider partnership. Well-cared-for leather retains its elasticity and grip over time, ensuring a stable saddle position, a secure seat, and a correct posture.
On the contrary, dry or hardened leather can reduce grip, compromise rider stability, and increase the risk of slipping.
Likewise, nourished and flexible leather adapts better to the horse’s movements, distributing pressure evenly: this results in greater comfort for the animal, prevention of friction points, and respect for its musculature.
